I say the same for photos. Memories perpetually suffer the injustice of the camera’s simplicity when compared to the human eye and yet cameras are all we have.
People renovate carpet only to put a rug on top of their new hardwood floors.
I thought getting rid of the fabric in the carpet’s supposed to make it easier to clean. So what’s with the rug? Now the floor must be swept and the rug must be dusted. Isn’t that a bit self contradictory? Yet most would agree that the rug plus hardwood floor combination is the nicest. So in other words, most would agree that although it’s more difficult to maintain (cost + cleanliness), it is more attractive. Same goes with furniture, drapery, frames, and decor. Sure minimalist and modern styles are cool, but they can’t beat Victorian and gothic architecture.
Is that not the same with people?
Mysterious is synonymous with Intriguing. The more drama there is, the more interesting it becomes. But after awhile, doesn’t it get tiring?
Since when did Simple become synonymous with Boring?
But who am I to say ‘For the record, I like….’ because I am so indecisive; I don’t even know for certain. But for the record, in this very moment, simplicity is a breath of fresh air.
