All our abstract and unseen parasites.

From a historical evolutionary standpoint, “One important reason for our attraction to physically attractive mates, according to evolutionary reasoning, is that physically attractive people are less likely infected with parasites (blemishes, asymmetry, leprosy, boils, syphilis), and on average, are healthier. Healthy mates had more surviving offspring.”

Today, we still assume those with tangible good appearances have the best intangible character much superior to those with appearances less physically attractive.

Yet how many great-looking people long to be rid of that parasite called Insecurity? Self hate? Loneliness? That infection called Jealousy and insatiable craving to just be accepted?

Now, if you had the chance to find the remedy and be free from those ugly parasites of the mind and heart, what would life look like?

That day will never come.

It would be a frightening day indeed when others analyse me as consistently and as bluntly as I analysed myself.

"…but don’t let this Frustrate you; just let it Fuel you."

- Soul Cravings

Soul Cravings by Erwin Raphael McManus.

It screams deafening truths at me: the very ones I’ve been running away from. I put the book down for a little while to take a breather, to let the implications seep in, and to let the realization sink in that, yeah this is what I’ve been thinking about.

If humans were solely physiological + emotional beings,

then Psychology could explain anything and everything about humans in terms of biology, evolution, cognition/rationale, and social concepts. We would lack nothing.
Unfortunately, we seem to also have souls.
Which is where God comes in.

If not for spiritual health, I would not need to need God as much as I do now.
